Gallery 101 is proud to partner with Full Femme Collective to host Expansion - a free workshop series for Ottawa/Gatineau's young Black Artists
From October 2020 to January 2021, Full Femme Collective and Gallery 101 will host a bilingual series of free online workshops created to center young (aged 15-30) 2SLGBTQ+ Black artists, including neurodiverse and artists with disabilities, primarily in Ottawa / Gatineau to respond to their needs in accessing opportunities, networks, and tools for the development of their careers.This project creates intentional space for Black artists to see themselves in art spaces, particularly by providing a platform for the voices and experience of paid Black facilitators.
This project is funded by ACFO Bilingual Ottawa.

ABOUT OUR PARTNERS
Full Femme is an artistic collective for creative in alignment with the feminine and/or live in the margins of gender. It was started in 2019 to uplift and provide a platform to these artists in Ottawa/Gatineau. Full Femme is a space (both virtual and real life) where creative can collaborate, share opportunities and create long-lasting friendships.
A NOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS
Please note that participation in Expansion workshop livestreams is reserved for Black creatives. Recordings of the workshops will be made accessible to all at a later date.
Expansion workshops are a unique space for Black facilitators and participants to address challenges, and identify strategies and opportunities specific to their experience. G101’s partner in this project, Full Femme, is a Black-led arts collective. This project is a result of their labour, for their community.
